Meta's agentic AI division Manus has launched Manus Agents, bringing its complete AI agent platform to Telegram with a setup process that bypasses traditional developer overhead entirely.

The release, available immediately across all subscription tiers, represents a notable departure from conventional chatbot integrations. Rather than requiring API tokens, configuration files, or server management, users connect via QR code scan and gain access to the full Manus toolkit within approximately one minute.

"This is not a lightweight chatbot add-on," the company stated in its announcement. "It's the same Manus — with full reasoning, tools, and multi-step task execution — now available through chat."

Developer Implications

For developers building conversational AI experiences, the architecture choices here merit attention. Manus Agents maintains feature parity with the web platform, meaning multi-step task orchestration, code execution, document generation, and external tool integration all function through the messaging interface.

The system handles voice transcription, image processing, and file operations natively within chat threads — capabilities that typically require separate service integrations when building custom solutions. Users can switch between Manus 1.6 Max for complex reasoning tasks and Manus 1.6 Lite for faster responses, with both supporting end-to-end task completion.

Existing Manus projects, skills, and connectors carry over to the chat interface automatically, suggesting a unified backend architecture that developers building similar systems might study.

Expansion Timeline

Manus co-founder Tao Zhang indicated aggressive expansion plans. "Support for WhatsApp, LINE, Slack and Discord coming very soon," he posted, with native Windows and Mac applications also in development alongside PC automation capabilities.

The company framed the release as foundational: "Manus Agents is the beginning of a broader shift in how you interact with your personal AI. The agent should not live behind a login screen — it should be wherever you are."

Manus, which gained prominence in March 2025 before Meta acquired it in December, continues operating as a separate product while its technology integrates into Meta's broader platform ecosystem.
